Srinagar, Sep 02 (KNO) : Tariq Shah, a resident of Lal Bazar area of Srinagar has tried his everything to contact his son who is settled in Qatar since past few years. Shah has left no stone unturned to speak to his son since past almost a month, but to no avail. Talking to Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the communication clampdown has broken him as a father as he could not reach out to his only son pursuing his career in overseas. “This is the first time that I could not spoke to my son wishing him a blessed Eid and still we are out of touch with each other right from the Aug 5,” he said amid sobs. While speaking to the KNO, Shah said the he was supposed to talk to his son thrice a week but due to the ongoing communication gag he could not do so. He is afraid of things that comes to his mind about the safety of his son as he wakes up several times a night fearing the safety of his only son. Shah doesn’t have a landline connection, which adds to his worry. “I am moving from pillar to post just to hear the voice of my son. This communication gag may take my life,” he said. Shah is not alone to meet this fate as there are many other families who are facing similar challenges. Shamima, a resident of downtown told KNO that just before a day of clampdown her son, who works in a private company at Saudi Arabia, called her and spoke to her for some minutes complaining about his health as he was not feeling well. “At that time, he promised me that he will call me on the next day but unfortunately due to the communication gag, he couldn’t reach us and so far, I am unaware about his well-being,” she told KNO, as tears filled her eyes.
